Chelsea + Josh: Making it to the Altar Together

Imagine you have the prettiest engagement ring, perfect gown, gorgeous linens and flowers, shoes, bowties, delicious cupcakes…everything is coming together for your big day - right down to the smallest of details like hair pins and the ring box. Even chatting it up with your photographer about your ideal location for the wedding photos of your dreams! Maybe it’s a bit crazy. Maybe it’s stressful. Or maybe you thrive off the last minute details - planning timelines and laying out the seating chart, etc.

But what if nothing else mattered more than simply making it to the altar together?

One week before Josh was to say, “I do,” to Chelsea in front of all their loved ones, he was in the most horrific accident. The large truck Josh drives for work rolled three times after he heroically tried to save a life of someone veering left of center as he hoped to avoid an accident. The weight shifted quicker than could be controlled and he began rolling. Paramedics got to him 40 minutes later, unconscious. Josh has seven broken ribs, a sprained ACL in his shoulder and a fracture in his elbow.

The dreams for their wedding day changed in the blink of an eye.

All of these beautiful details, though still captured on their day, no longer mattered. What mattered most was that Josh could slowly but surely make it to the altar to see his insanely gorgeous bride walk down the aisle to him. And so, he did!

Nothing held these two back from celebrating their nuptials. Nothing! Chelsea put on her perfect dress. Their son, Gordon, grinned from ear-to-ear. Josh muscled through every intense obstacle of the day. It was truly an amazing and emotional day.

We’re honored to share these beautiful images documenting the first day of your forever together!
