Kynslie + Josh: An After-Hours Engagement

Kynslie and Josh have a love story that is truly one for the books! More on that later…you’re going to need some time to grab enough tissues for their proposal story!

But first - the pups who stole their hearts!

“We shortly realized just how stressful the odd hours of being a police officer could effect a relationship. With soccer being my getaway and soon ending, Josh thought it would be a good idea to get a companion to always be with me.”

They were only supposed to come home with one of the adorable puppies, but Josh couldn’t let that happen after falling in love with Stella’s sister, too!

“When it came time to pick up Stella, I had no idea what I was in for. After receiving her, Josh dropped me off at Petsmart to get necessities. He then said he forgot Stella’s vet paperwork and had to go back and get it. Meanwhile, he knew I was going to already have two of everything because I can’t make decisions. This is when Josh walked in with our second dog, Gigi.”

The girls are such an important part of their lives and truly create a little family!

“These dogs have been the best blessing not just for me but for the betterment of our relationship. They have really taught us how to be young adults and persevere through adversity.”

Just take a look at Stella and Gigi living their best life!

Kynslie and Josh are in love with each other and I’m in love with them!!! From the moment we met, sparks were flying - kidding…sort of! [Haha!]

In all seriousness, it’s not often that hearing a proposal story makes me bawl my eyes out. It’s so touching, I’ve asked them to share the most epic scavenger hunt of all time just once more.

“It was approximately 8AM on November 5, 2016. I was sleeping on the living room floor after falling asleep watching a movie. There was a knock at the door and it was “the mommas” and Josh’s best friend’s parents, who have been a integral part of his life. They took me to breakfast in my pajamas. After breakfast, his notes lead me to getting my nails done with his mom. Followed by getting my hair done with my mom. Next, I was taken to the mall where I unexpectedly met my best friends from college. It was there that Josh had already purchased what he wanted me to wear from head to toe, along with arranging my makeup to be done at Sephora. His next card lead me to Josh’s brother, sister in law, niece and nephew at the location of our first date, Carrabas. After a late lunch, I was lead to the Zoo.”

Some how, she still had no idea what she was in for!

“I was met at the front of the Rainforest by my dad who had a speaker playing, “Thinking out Loud” by Dylan Scott. I was lead down the Rainforest path where I was greeted with flowers from all of our family and friends. I was overwhelmed, trying to take in the moment. After being led up to the orangutans, I think that’s when it hit me, seeing Josh standing there, I finally knew.”

Does it get sweeter? You BET it does!

“It was then that Josh couldn’t find his words and pretended to have forgotten the ring, checking his pockets coming up empty. I laughed because this is totally something he would do! After a few short jokes, he comes walking back with my nana and papa (Great Grandparents).”

TISSUE TIME!

“My Papa was my rock. He would pick me up from school every single day and spend every evening with me. We would always talk about how he was going to dance with me at my wedding some day, never thinking this wasn’t going to happen. Josh knew this. Josh knew how important that was to me and wanted to do something about it after my Papa’s health started declining. It was then that Josh came up with the scavenger hunt everyone called “Kynslie Appreciation Day.” It was then that he told my dad why he wanted to get engaged now knowing it may be a bit early and it would create a longer engagement, but he wanted us to have that moment. That memory for the rest of our lives. So in that moment when I saw my Nana and Papa walking toward me, I knew I couldn’t tell him, “No, not yet!” My Papa handed Josh the ring with a smile on his face. Josh got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. This day was easily one I’ll never forget and will always be one of the best days of my life.”

Kynslie and Josh, I am so ecstatic to be celebrating your love and can’t wait for the big day next year!

I’d also like to give a big thanks to the Middleburg Heights Police Department for allowing Josh the use of a cruiser to make our vision for this session come true! Everything you do to keep our communities safe is much appreciated!
